The paint was extremely rough.

Contaminants like brake dust and other tiny particles had embedded themselves into the paint (which you can’t usually see).

Unfortunately these contaminants don’t get removed with a normal wash.
.
They need to be chemically dissolved (via iron decon) and removed (via clay bar) twice a year.
.
If left on your vehicle, they will damage your paint and reduce its life.
.
Don’t wait as long as this truck owner did to get your paint healthy again (but if you do, i won’t be mad at you 😉)

My client asked me to do what needed to be done to make her jeep like new inside & out, and make sure the paint was well protected for years to come.
.
The exterior got a level 2 service to remove light swirlmarks, and a few deeper scratches were addressed to bring the paint back to like-new shape. I sealed in the freshly polished paint with a durable 3 year ceramic coating.
.
Interior was in good shape already, so it got a custom package consisting of a light cleaning, all plastics UV protected, and leather deep cleaned then conditioned to keep it soft & supple.
.
Engine bay was dialed in, and water spots were removed from the glass.
.

To my fellow detailers: don’t take advantage of your clients in situations like these. Make your decision based on if it was YOUR vehicle, and YOUR money paying for the service. Listen to what your client needs, and deliver on that without taking advantage of their trust. It will pay off in the long run.
